The protracted crisis in the Middle East could become a positive factor for the Russian automotive market, including the heavy truck segment. This opinion was expressed by experts at the round table “Russian car market 2026: has the bottom of the crisis been passed?”, organized by the publication Reedus.
Due to the ongoing closure of the Strait of Hormuz, prices for fertilizers, wheat, oil and gas have increased on the world market. If the blockade of the waterway continues, the Russian budget will receive additional funds.
“There is a cautious hope that […] these factors will begin to bring some positive effect, money will appear in the country. And the year will be a little better than the previous one,” said automotive market expert Maxim Zheleznyak.
“If rising energy prices […] will last a few more months, we will really get additional money,” says Tatyana Arabadzhi, Director of the National Agency for Industrial Information (NAPI).
These funds can be used for important infrastructure projects, which will help manufacturers and distributors increase shipments of heavy trucks and special equipment, Arabaji is sure.
