Former Hyundai plant in Peterge assembled a jubilee car

The company, which is now managed by the AGR company and which operates under the Sample Automobile Plant St. Petersburg, has prompted 30 thousand cars from the moment of restart. The plant managed to assemble the first three thousand cars in three months, ten months later, 20 thousand cars went off the conveyor, and at the end of March 2025, that is, after almost a year, a 30,000-thousandth car was released. And that’s not all: the Solaris brand manages to hold the third place in the country for sedan sales.

Solaris cars are assembled according to a complete cycle of components remaining at the enterprise after the departure of the South Korean manufacturer. These are four models: Solaris HS and HC (they are also renamed Hyundai Solaris and Creta, respectively), as well as Solaris KRS and KRX (Kia Rio and Rio X). From the original Hyundai and Kia, they are distinguished by emblems in the form of an oval S.’s oval letter.

Meanwhile, today it became known that Hyundai and Kia intend to return to the Russian market. Korean media write that the concern “studies the possibilities of restarting business against the backdrop of a new thaw in relations between Russia and the USA”, but the final decision has not been made. So far, Hyundai-Kia still has the time to not only return, but also redeem its St. Petersburg factory back-the sale transaction provided for an option for a return ransom, and it is valid until the end of 2025.
