According to the consulting agency Globaldata, in April 2025 the volume of the world car market exceeded 7.3 million cars. For comparison: in the same month last year, six percent of cars were sold by six percent. For four months of 2025, more than 29.4 million cars were bought around the world-5.9 percent more in annual comparison.

In 30 days of April, global sales of cars amounted to 7,324,712 units, and in January-April-29,243,912 units. From the published report, it follows that China with an indicator of 2,055,153, which is 12 percent more than last year’s indicator in April, holds the first place in April. For the same month, 1,473,995 cars were sold in the United States-11.3 percent more than in April 2024.

But the car market countries of Western Europe in April went minus by 2.2 percent – there they sold 1,085,892 cars there. A little less – by 1.3 percent – sank car sales in Eastern Europe (367,605 copies).

Indicators of other countries are also held. So, in South America, for 30 days, 248,039 cars were bought, which is 3.6 percent more than last year. The largest car markets included Japan with a result of 339,790 cars (+10.5 percent), South Korea (148,332 pcs.; +6.9 percent) and Canada (178,787 pcs.; +7.8 percent).

In Russia, the sales of new cars in April for the first time exceeded the mark of 100 thousand pieces: dealers sold 102.1 thousand cars – this is 27.9 percent more than in March, but 25.5 percent less than in the same month of 2024. In the first place in terms of the number of cars sold is LADA with an indicator of 28,486 cars, the share of the brand in the overall structure of the market is 28 percent.
