Toyota has announced a major review: about 443,444 Tundra and Tundra Hybrid pickups released from 2022 to 2025, must be checked due to a potentially dangerous malfunction. It turned out that they could refuse reverse lamps, which threatens accidents. The promotion affects the “tundra” sold both in the USA and beyond.
On some Tundra, a constructive defect in the rear lamp housing was discovered. Due to poor-quality glue, the case is indefathetical, so moisture can penetrate inside. Over time, the condensate will lead to corrosion, which, in turn, can turn into a malfunction or a complete refusal of the rear lamp.
Despite the fact that Tundra, by default, has a rear view camera, the loss of the lantern may be a problem in the dark.

In the Toyota dealerships on pickups, both blocks of lanterns will be replaced for free. In addition, wire bundles will be checked – they will either be repaired or replaced if it is found that corrosion has entered the connector.
In Russia, Toyota is also recalled in the event of defects. Last week, Rosstandart agreed by the Toyota Motor campaign, related to the malfunction of the standard Toyota Alphard hood. 196 vehicles sold in the period from September 30, 2020 to March 31, 2021 will be sent to service centers.
