Hyundai received a patent for the name of the Kona crossover in Russia

The relevant information follows from the data of Rospatent, which was studied by RIA Novosti.

The company submitted an application to register the Kona brand to the patent office back in July 2024. A positive decision on it was made in March 2026. Now the company can officially use this trademark for the production and sale of cars in the country.

This event occurs against the backdrop of a changed structure of the company’s assets in Russia. Let us recall that at the end of 2023, Hyundai Motor announced its decision to sell its automobile plant located in St. Petersburg.

The buyer was the Russian Art-Finance LLC, which is the parent structure of AGR LLC. The deal was finally closed in early 2024. At the same time, an important condition of the agreements was that the Korean concern retained the right to repurchase the enterprise for two years after its sale.

Earlier it was reported that Omoda C5 and C7 received the right to sell in the Russian Federation under the Jeland brand.
