The model was named after the city of the same name in Colorado; it stands out for its brutal, angular design and frame construction – a rarity for modern Hyundai cars, Carscoops reports.
The concept, which debuted in New York, attracts attention with non-standard solutions: the rear doors open against the direction of travel, and 37-inch all-terrain tires are installed on massive wheels. The rear door has a full-size spare tire, and the tailgate itself can swing open in any direction and is equipped with a roll-down window.
The interior of Boulder is made in a futuristic style. Instead of the usual large central multimedia screen, there are four small square displays with widgets. Also in the cabin you can see a massive transmission control lever and a head-up display stretched across the entire width of the windshield.
For now, the new product is presented in the status of a concept car. Hyundai plans to launch a production version of the SUV by 2030. The model’s main competitors on the market will be the Ford Bronco and Jeep Wrangler.
