South Korean KIA is preparing for the release a compact crossover EV2, which will also receive a sports version. The premiere of the model in the form of the concept took place last winter at the EV Day event. It is expected that the serial version will appear on the European market in early 2026.
The most powerful GT version of the electric car, according to preliminary data, will be equipped with two electric motors and all-wheel drive. Their peak power will be from 250 to 300 horsepower. Such a crossover can accelerate to 100 kilometers per hour in about 5 seconds. The course of the course will be provided by a traction nickel-metallological battery with a capacity of 55 kilowatt hours, borrowed from the older EV3 model. On one charging, the GT version of EV2 will be able to drive up to 435 kilometers.
In order for handling to meet a powerful power plant, the sports version will be equipped with a reconfigurated steering control and more effective brakes. Probably, the suspension settings will also be changed, which will receive a multi -link circuit from behind.
The basic version of EV2 will have one electric motor on the front axle with a capacity of 150 to 200 horsepower. Its acceleration to 100 kilometers per hour will take about 7.5 seconds.
