In a Finnish port, otters are chewing en masse on the wiring of new cars.

According to Maaseudun Tulevaisuus, in the port of Hanko there is a warehouse where 10 thousand cars without mileage are stored, which should be sent to dealers. It is noted that the total damage from the actions of the animals exceeded 200 thousand euros.

Port workers were forced to apply to the local wildlife center for a special permit to catch otters that damage cars. This is not the first such situation for the port. In April last year, the operator received permission to catch two otter, then he managed to catch only one otter, but this did not solve the problem – the damage to cars continued.

Otters have gotten under the hoods of cars, where they have damaged insulation and carpeting and left excrement, natural debris and a lingering odor. An explanation for this unusual behavior of animals has not yet been found.

Earlier it was reported that 60 cars collided on the highway in the United States.
