In Russia, from 2026, new road signs will be introduced

Rosstandart approved GOST containing new signs and rules for their application, and also updated the design of some tablets, Kommersant writes. By virtue, the document will enter only on January 1, 2026, but the regional authorities can initially establish new signs now.

The new GOST, published by Rosstandart, updates the plate indicating the validity of the road sign. In addition to hours and days of the week, months can now be indicated there.

It will also be possible to combine several signs on one plate. So the “recommended speed restriction” can be placed on the shield with the “artificial irregularity” indicator and indicate the parking method on the “parking” sign.

The “Deaf” plate will appear. It will be placed in places where hard of hearing people often cross the road: for example, near medical institutions or public organizations. Finally, the “stop line” sign can be both horizontal and vertical.

The most “popular” violation of traffic rules in Moscow in Russia created a new road-shummer chamber by 2027 to build a road bridge between Russia and North Korea.

GOST will allow you to get rid of extra signs, which will make the road traffic safer, are confident in the data center. In Moscow, for example, it will be possible to dismantle more than 55 thousand signs. However, this will not work out immediately: the process will probably take several years.

In January, it was reported that in Moscow they would create the production of road signs, into which more than one billion rubles will be invested. Now there is no local production in the capital. The authorities buy signs at the auction, and these are one -time deliveries.
