In Russia, the production of LADA and Xcite cars temporarily stopped

AvtoVAZ went on a planned corporate vacation, which will last three weeks – from July 28 to August 17. This is stated on the website of the auto giant. During a pause, the sites will carry out repair, maintenance and modernization of equipment. Together with AvtoVAZ, the “Avtozavod St. Petersburg”, which once belonged to the Nissan, which has once been released by Nissan, where the Xcite crossovers are now being released.

The factories will also carry out work to improve working conditions. Those employees who will continue to work during vacation will be able to use canteens and transfers to the place of work, notes AvtoVAZ.

In January-June 2025, AvtoVAZ sold 155.4 thousand LADA cars. This is a quarter less than during the same period last year, calculated in Avtostat.

As for Xcite, the brand crossovers-X-Cross 7 and X-Cross 8-bought about 3.5 thousand people. According to analysts, the best months for the brand were September and October 2024, when it was possible to sell more than a thousand cars. Now the demand does not exceed 500 units per month. However, neither about the reduction of production volumes, nor even more about the closure of the plant, we are talking about.

AvtoVAZ can reduce the production rate of cars against the background of the falling market. The company does not have time to sell the collected cars and has already thought about the transition to a four -day working week, as KAMAZ and GAZ have already done. If AvtoVAZ is decided on such a measure, then the four -day at the factories will be introduced for the first time since 2022, when the situation on the market was unprecedented and the usual suppliers broke off relations with auto giant.
