Infiniti is preparing a potential bestseller based on Nissan X-Trail

According to Automotive News, by the end of 2025 Infiniti will decide on the release of a new crossover, which can become the best -selling brand model. It is planned to take the new generation Nissan Rogue, we are known by the X-Trail. The novelty will be a response to the entry-level crossover Acura Adx, a premium analogue Honda HR-V.

So far, the crossover project appears in the company’s plans under the code designation i33C, and the end of its appearance on the market is allegedly indicated the end of 2027. Officially, the novelty on the X-Trail platform has not yet been confirmed, but Infiniti does not hide that they are discussing the release of a compact all-around with electrified power plants. Probably the connected hybrid or E-Power system is referred to.

Infiniti will get rid of the most affordable crossovers at the end of the year forgotten concepts: Infiniti Q50 EAU Rouge with a motor from Nissan GT-R Infiniti stopped supplying QX80 SUVs due to a defect

Meanwhile, rumors about the new Infiniti model have been going on since last summer. Then it was reported that QX50 and QX55 would be removed from the conveyor in 2026, and they will not have direct heirs. But several completely new models will appear, including the same hybrid crossover based on the Nissan X-Trail/Rogue.

Its assembly can be organized at the Nissan plant in Smyrna, Tennessee, next to Rogue. This would help the Japanese automaker avoid the duties introduced by Donald Trump and increase the volume of release. According to experts, up to 50 thousand copies of the new model can go from the conveyor per year. For comparison: for the entire last year, Infiniti has implemented a little more than 58 thousand new cars in the United States, the most popular of which was QX60 (27.8 thousand pieces).

As for the resignation of the most affordable Crossovers Infiniti QX50 and QX55, the reason for this is low sales. On the main market brand, in the USA, according to the results of 2024, both “junior” SUVs diverged with a total circulation of less than 15 thousand copies, greatly inferior to competitors. Both models are still being produced at the factory in Mexico, production will end at the end of 2025.
