It became known how much money Russians spent on car services in a year

At the end of last year, the capacity of the service market for passenger cars amounted to 1.002 trillion rubles. This was reported by the analytical agency Autostat. The calculations took into account indicators from 69 Russian regions, in which 97 percent of all passenger cars in the country were registered.

The market volume for maintenance and repair last year amounted to 594.2 billion rubles, analysts calculated. The most popular services spent 408.2 billion: car wash (177.7 billion rubles), body repair (190.8 billion) and tire fitting (39.7 billion rubles).

Official dealers earned only eight percent of the total amount – 47.3 billion rubles. Five times more money was spent on the services of independent service centers – 225.3 billion or 38 percent. Russian car owners spent 321.6 billion or 54 percent of all funds on independent repairs or private services.

Autostat notes that they only took into account the price of the work itself, without taking into account the cost of spare parts and consumables.

In 2024, maintenance costs for Russians have risen by about 30 percent, and the same increase is expected in 2025, predict the Caready car service network. The reasons are an increase in purchase prices, a high key rate, problems with logistics and an increase in mechanics’ salaries.
