The electric car, currently known under the code name Juniper, will hit the production line in January 2025, writes Car News China. The crossover will be assembled at the Shanghai Gigafactory, and they plan to double the production volume of the bestseller. The five-seat Model Y will be updated first, and will be joined by a three-row version towards the end of the year.

There are not many details about the restyled Model Y yet. It is expected that the update will follow the Model 3 scheme: the models will add power and refresh the exterior and interior, including new advanced assistants in the equipment list. The rear optics can be designed in the Cybertruck style. The capacity of one of the traction batteries, according to unofficial data, will be 95 kilowatt-hours.

In the fourth quarter of 2025, the five-seat crossover will be joined by a six-seat one, and some media are writing about a seven-seat version. The six-seater Model Y will have two rows with separate seats, like the Model X, and a sofa behind them.
