The Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant is going to update part of its line next year. As the Autostat agency reports, citing the manufacturer’s press service, the first in line is the Profi truck, which will receive a diesel engine combined with a six-speed manual transmission. And towards the end of the year, the updated Patriot will see the light of day, for which the upcoming restyling will be the largest since 2016. The debut of the improved flagship is expected to take place in November.
The UAZ Profi with a diesel engine will be presented in March 2025. The engine paired with a six-speed manual transmission will be received by the “Lorry”. A rear-wheel drive version will appear first, followed by an all-wheel drive version in the fourth quarter of the same year.
It was reported that it will be a two-liter 136-horsepower diesel engine with a timing chain drive and a cast-iron cylinder head from the Chinese JAC. It is already being produced at the ex-Ford plant owned by Sollers in Yelabuga. The six-speed manual transmission is also made in Russia, at the Zavolzhsky Motor Plant (ZMZ) Sollers.
As for the Patriot, it will also acquire a six-speed manual transmission, which will be combined with both gasoline and diesel engines.
It became known when UAZ production will start in Cuba. UAZ showed pre-production vehicles with a JAC diesel engine and new “mechanics” UAZ “Bukhanka” will undergo certification again
In addition, the Patriot will receive new optics, a slightly different interior design and a smaller diameter steering wheel, as well as upgraded on-board electronics and airbag control units.
In the future, the flagship UAZ will have an automatic transmission, but the date has not yet been announced.
