Japanese Lexus IS sedan will undergo a major transformation

The current generation model has been produced for 13 years. But the future Lexus IS will be completely different: it will try on a five-door body, increased dimensions, as well as a purely electric power plant with an output of 500 hp. All this will allow the model to become a direct competitor to the popular American electric car Tesla Model 3.

Meanwhile, last fall an updated version of the four-door IS debuted, with its appearance slightly tweaked, the steering reconfigured and new functions added. At the same time, only two modifications were offered – IS 300h and IS 350.

There was no revolution in the appearance of the IS: the sedan retained the large radiator grille, which became even more massive, and air ducts on the sides. The shape of the hood has changed, onto which the Lexus badge, previously located in the middle of the grille, has moved.
