KIA has updated the short -drawn Sportage crossover for Europeans

The model that was once popular in the Russian market has already experienced planned restyling in most countries, but now there was a turn of the option for Europe. Sportage is sold there, which differs from others – it has a reduced rear overhang and a wheelbase shortened by 7.5 centimeters. The crossover was updated according to the same scenario as the global model: a new lighting technique has appeared, the design of the radiator grate has changed and the design of the front panel in the cabin. The start of sales is scheduled for the third quarter of this year.

The European Sportage was slightly in length, although it is still much inferior to the global version: 4540 versus 4685 millimeters. For an updated crossover, wheeled disks with a diameter of 17 to 19 inches and the GT Line sports package are declared. You can distinguish a restyled model from the pre -reform by a different drawing of a radiator grille, the chart of the rear lights and bums.

From now on, there are now two displays of a diagonal of 12.3 inches each – they are combined into a single, slightly curved cluster. The location of the air duct deflectors has also changed. For a surcharge, you can order a 10-inch projection screen and the Harman Kardon audio system.

Sportage in Europe is wide. The entry -level crossover is laid for a 1.6 -liter gasoline turbo engine in two power variants: 150 or 180 horsepower. The gearbox is a six -speed “mechanics” or a seven -speed pre -sequent “robot”, and in the second case, the drive can be complete. There is a 1.6-liter CRDI turbodiesel in the range, which is now available only in the option by 136 forces (115-horsepower modification is excluded).

The hybrid line is represented by versions with a connection of the 1.6 turbo engine and a six -speed machine with an integrated electric motor: the power of an ordinary hybrid, which is now available not only with full, but also with front -wheel drive, increased from 230 to 239 horsepower, and recharged – from 265 to 288 forces.

The production of the updated Kia Sportage for Europe will be launched at the factory in Slovakia in the near future – a pre -restyling model was also produced there. Prices will announce closer to the third quarter.
