The law does not prohibit the sale of a car after the body has been boiled, but the seller is required to indicate all damage in the contract. If you hide defects, the deal may be considered invalid, warned automobile lawyer Sergei Smirnov in an interview with Motor magazine.
“The current legislation does not currently prohibit the purchase and sale of damaged vehicles. But the seller must point out such defects as repairs involving welding of a new part of the body after a serious accident,” the lawyer warned.
According to him, if the damage is hidden, the buyer, having received similar information in the future, can challenge this transaction and demand the return of funds.
Smirnov also noted that in the sales contract it is important to indicate a detailed description of the condition of the car and list all existing damage or work performed. In addition, it is necessary to make a note that the buyer is properly notified of the technical condition and understands that the car has been in use and hidden damage is quite possible.
