The press service of the subsidiary brand Trumpchi shared photos of the interior and exterior of the S7 all-terrain vehicle, and the Autohome portal got acquainted with the pre-production car and photographed the rear of the cabin. The main parameters are known thanks to certification documents: the new GAC will compete with the Li Auto L6 and will be a rechargeable hybrid. The Trumpchi S7 will appear on the Chinese market in the first quarter of 2025.

The length/width/height of the GAC Trumpchi S7 are 4900/1950/1780 millimeters, respectively, and the wheelbase is 2880 millimeters. Thus, the new product is slightly smaller than the familiar GAC GS8 petrol crossover in Russia. The model has a design traditional for modern “Chinese”: a streamlined body, hidden door handles, lighting equipment with full-width LED strips, lidar on the roof.

The interior is also without revelations: the “seven” resembles a more compact “joint” crossover with the Toyota concern. The front has the same minimalism, the focus is on a projection screen and a frameless touchscreen, a high tunnel in the center, there are blocks for wireless charging and ventilated seats. Rear passengers have electrically adjustable sofas and a cinema screen.
GAC Trumpchi S7 is a rechargeable hybrid with a 1.5 turbo engine (160 horsepower). It is known that the crossover will have versions with one and two electric motors, but the output and type of hybrid are not specified. The battery will be lithium iron phosphate and will probably be placed between the axles. The total power reserve is known: it will exceed 1000 kilometers. The ground clearance has also been revealed: it will reach 20 centimeters.
LiXiang competitor from Changan: “live” photos and unusual options
Li Xiang’s successes with the L6, L7, L8 and L9 crossovers motivated competitors to create a whole galaxy of hybrids of a similar size and similar design. In addition to GAC, Changan, Geely, BYD, Huawei and their sub-brands have similar projects. Probably, in 2025, a price war is planned among gasoline-electric models in the Middle Kingdom.
