Lukashenko demanded the creation of a 100% Belarusian car

This became known during a meeting between the President of Belarus and the management of the Belgi automobile plant.

“You can’t get anywhere until you make 100% your own car. Assign the task to whoever you want, the President instructed the management of the enterprise. “But all the cars must be ours.” Well, 100% localization is neither reasonable nor necessary. You know how much is needed. And I know.”

The Belgee Automobile Plant will update its Belgee X50 crossover this year. It is noted that work on the serial production of the restyled model is already underway, and the first twenty updated cars have already rolled off the assembly line.

Also, Alexander Lukashenko was presented with a certificate for the X50 car from the enterprise team.

It was previously reported that Moskvich sales in 2025 fell by a third.
