This is a compact crossover 4.6 meters long, with a large screen and a 218-horsepower electric motor, allowing it to accelerate from zero to 100 kilometers per hour in 6.9 seconds. However, the model is not original: in fact, it is [Geely Galaxy E5](https://motor.ru/news/galaxy-e5-25-06-2024.htm), differing from the Chinese source only in nameplates. To the market e. MAS 7 will be released in early 2025 with a price starting from 109,800 Malaysian ringgit (approximately 2.5 million rubles).

Proton e. MAS 7 is built on the Intelligent New Energy Architecture (GEA) platform from Geely, a company that owns almost half of the shares of the Malaysian brand. It has an uncontested electric motor on the front axle, developing 218 horsepower and 320 Nm of torque.

But there are two batteries – 49.52 or 60.22 kilowatt-hours. The power reserve on the WLTP cycle is 345 and 410 kilometers, respectively. The battery is said to be durable: after 921 complete charge-discharge cycles, it should retain more than 90 percent of its capacity. This is equivalent to approximately 400 thousand kilometers.

A national electric car will appear in Malaysia. The Geely Emgrand sedan now has a “charged” turbo version. For the first time, BYD sold more than half a million cars in the world in a month.

The main trump card of the new Proton is its cost. Closest rival e. MAS 7 and the most popular electric car on the Malaysian market, BYD Atto 3, are noticeably more expensive – from 149,800 ringgit, which is equal to 3.4 million rubles.

At the end of summer, Proton introduced the updated X70 – an analogue of the Geely Atlas Pro. The crossover’s exterior and interior were slightly refreshed, adding support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, which was not previously available on Protons. At the same time, the X70 lost the all-wheel drive option with a 1.8-liter engine.
