Manturov admitted that the project of E-Neva electric car is frozen

The project for the production of E-NEVA electrocrospects Development of the Almaz-Antey VKO concern is paused. This was announced on the sidelines of the PMEF-2025 First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov. He added that the defense concern is now too loaded with the main tasks, “therefore on a pause.” Whether the development of the “Russian answer Tesla” will be resumed and when this will happen is unknown.

Information about freezing work on a promising platform for electric vehicles appeared in March. Then it was reported that there are two reasons: the lack of financial support from the state and the load of a military enterprise with the main tasks. A year before, the Ministry of Industry and Trade reported that the project was not closed, but work on it is slow.

The Obukhov plant belonging to the Almaz-Antey, and the St. Petersburg Polytechnic University of Peter the Great, worked on E-Neva. A skateboard-platform was created, the “first-born” of which was supposed to be an electric coser.

In 2023, a prototype was shown: SUV 4.5 meters long with two electric motors with a total of 435 horsepower. The declared time overclocking to the “hundreds” is only 2.7 seconds. The battery with a capacity of 90 kilowatt hours was supposed to provide him with up to 463 kilometers of the course without recharging. Information appeared about the approximate price – 4 million rubles.

They were going to release E-Neva at the former Toyota factory in St. Petersburg (Shushary-Auto), which crossed the FSUE under the control of the Japanese. A platform with a capacity of about 100 thousand cars a year is still idle.

In March, the Petersburg plant began to look for employees. The vacancies were opened by the Aurus personnel service: it was previously reported that the production of Russian luxury machines can establish the production of Russian luxury machines. It is not known who will help Aurus to restart the site, since it was not possible to agree with the “new East Asian partner”.
