Mazda has revealed plans to revive the RX-7 rotary sports car

According to head of product planning Moritz Oswald, the employees’ enthusiasm for creating a new emotional flagship was unexpectedly high.

Inside Mazda, discussions have once again intensified about the revival of the RX rotary sports car, which could become a spiritual successor to the iconic RX-7 or RX-8 models. It is possible that the car will receive the name of a previously produced model.

Despite the interest, the company approaches the issue with pragmatism. Mazda is actively studying various scenarios, however, as Oswald emphasized, it cannot afford to launch a model that will not make a profit.

Thus, the main obstacle to decision-making remains the financial sustainability of the project. At the same time, Mazda is talking about a full-fledged production model, and not about a demonstration concept.

It was previously reported that UAZ is testing new diesel models in extreme conditions.
