Mercedes-Benz, Audi and BMW reported on the fall of profit

According to the results of the second quarter of 2025, the profit of Mercedes-Benz decreased by 69 percent compared to the same period last year, to 957 million euros. The result of the BMW is 1.8 billion euros and a decrease by almost a third. The Volkswagen Group, owning Audi, had 2.29 billion euros, which is also about a third less than last year. At the same time, all three auto giants report about the growth of the share of hybrids and pure electric cars.

In the first half of the year, the net profit of Mercedes-Benz collapsed by 56 percent, up to about 2.7 billion euros. Revenue fell nine percent. Sales of cars did not reach 900 thousand units, declining by six percent, and the Mercedes-Benz vans unit was able to sell 176 thousand cars (-16 percent). In the second quarter, the manufacturer delivered 547 thousand cars (-9 percent), including minivans and low-tonnage trucks.

The BMW Group profit in January-June amounted to a little more than four billion euros, decreasing by 29 percent. The revenue fell by eight percent.

As for supplies, in the first half of the year the result is “stable” – at the level of 1.2 million cars, and the company expects small growth according to the results of the year. Over the second quarter, the BMW shipped more than 621 thousand cars, improving last year’s indicator by 0.4 percent.

The Audi Group operating profit in the first half of the year fell to 1.09 billion euros (-45.1 percent). The revenue of the group at the same time increased by 5.3 percent. For six months, 794 thousand cars were sent to customers (-5.9 percent), including Bentley and Lamborghini, and over the past three months-405.3 thousand (the result of the second quarter of 2024-441.9 thousand cars).
