The new model is called GLC with EQ Technology, it is more technically advanced and is also unified in terms of design with a fuel crossover. The electric car crosses to the 800-volt architecture, will receive modern batteries and a new brake system.
Mercedes-Benz published the first photos of the new GLC with EQ Technology electric crossover. He will be a replacement for EQC that not justified the hopes and will be more advanced in terms of technology. An electric car will get an 800-volt architecture, inverters in silicon carbide, a rear electric motor with a two-stage gearbox and a new brake system, combining an amplifier, the main cylinder and the ESP unit in one module.
Mercedes-Benz Mercedes-Benz: in 10 years, designers will not be needed, and that’s why
The Germans special pride is a heat pump using three energy sources: excess heat of battery and electric motors, as well as the surrounding air. The pump will warm up the salon in winter and cool in the summer and, in addition, will provide forced cooling of the battery before fast charging. The batteries for electric GLC will be offered several, with different containers and internal chemistry. The most expensive will receive an anode from a mixture of graphite and silicon oxide and will be compatible with 320-kilowatt terminals.
Now the crossover is tested in the north of Sweden, in Armipluga. The program includes more than 500 standard tests and about a hundred more specific, the task of which is to evaluate the operation of electrical systems. Two -thirds of these tests occur on power electronics and charging. Engineers need to find out how an electric drive is conducted at low temperatures, what will be a real range and how optimally the recovery works.
Here, in Sweden, a fine setting is carried out of everything related to the riding characteristics: steering systems, course stability and, of course, all -wheel drive. The crossover will receive a power plant from two electric motors with individual traction control and the ability to automatically turn off the front engine to save energy.
According to unofficial data, the Mercedes-Benz Glc with EQ Technology market debut is scheduled for the next year, which means that the premiere can take place already in 2025.
