Ministry of Industry and Trade: in March, sales of new cars increased by 32%

According to the department, sales of passenger cars in the first spring month increased by 32% to 104.6 thousand units. The result of the first quarter is 267 thousand units. (+9%).

The head of Autostat, Sergei Tselikov, attributed the surge to several factors. First of all, the role was played by the early warm spring weather, which traditionally activates purchasing activity.

In addition, the pent-up demand that accumulated over the winter period began to turn into real transactions, and dealerships strive to fulfill the established quarterly plans as much as possible by issuing discounts.

Also, manufacturers and dealers specially timed the launch of a large number of important new products to the market for the spring season, which also fueled the interest of buyers.
