Moskvich summed up the results of 2024 and spoke about plans for 2025

In a conversation with Rossiyskaya Gazeta, a Moskvich representative said that in the past year, the domestic brand managed to increase sales by 60 percent compared to 2023. In addition, in mid-2024, the plant switched to full-cycle production of cars – with welding and painting, and in the future it intends to continue to deepen the level of localization. Next year the company has planned to launch at least one new model – Moskvich 8.

“2024 was quite a busy year,” noted Moskvich. “One of the most significant events was the launch of full cycle vehicle production (CKD) in May 2024 – a completely new welding line was built for this, which was an important step towards the disaggregation of vehicle kits and the localization of components.”

The company said that the brand “has taken the path of ‘fair prices’.” “The cost of cars is fixed and is not influenced by additional conditions that are often found on the market,” Moskvich explained. “Customers can easily find out the price on the company’s website and be sure that this is the price they will purchase a car for.”

Moskvich has revealed the start date for sales of the new crossover Moskvich 8 has been officially presented: what is known about the new crossover Figure of the day: how many Moskvich cars have been bought by Russians

In 2024, Moskvich began to deepen the level of localization and intends to continue in 2025. “We have already passed a certain level of localization – the Moskvich cars have Russian batteries, tires, wheels, glass from the Bor Glass Factory. The plan is to switch to local fuel tanks, polyurethane foam and other components,” the automaker said.

In the second half of February, the fourth model of the brand will be launched – the large three-row crossover Moskvich 8. This is an analogue of the Chinese JAC X8 Plus; it will be offered with a 1.5-liter gasoline engine with a capacity of 174 horsepower in conjunction with a “robot”. The drive will be front-wheel drive only.

“Other models are also in the plans, but production is a resource-intensive and expensive process; it is impossible to launch new models until there is an understanding of what the market will be like in 2025,” the company added. “Of course, if there are prerequisites for the implementation of new models, we will launch these cars.”

In the longer term, Moskvich will begin producing a new original domestic car with an internal combustion engine – this will happen in 2026.
