New details about the Belarusian electric crossover have appeared

Belgee EX50 is being prepared for launch in Belarus – a “green” crossover based on the Drestylic Geely Coolray, which is Belgee X50. On the air of the RTR-Belarus television channel showed a video from the prototype tests at the Minsk training ground. The tests are planned to be completed by the summer of 2025, and the start of serial production is scheduled for the beginning of 2026. The price indicator of the model is now at the level of 25-30 thousand dollars, which, in terms of Russian rubles at the rate of today, is 2.27-2.7 million.

The Deputy General Director of the United Institute for Mechanical Engineering of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Alexander Belevich, said that only at a cost of $ 25-30 thousand, the serial Belgee EX50 could be competitive in the market. However, according to him, “so far this cannot be achieved.” To reduce the cost, work is underway with suppliers and additional forces from the Belarusian industry are connected to the project, in particular, the MTZ six plant.

During tests at the training ground, the running qualities of an electric car are also tested. In the video demonstrated on the air of RTR-Belarus, they showed how the prototype is brought to the demolition of the front or rear wheels, they test a sharp braking on snowy asphalt and sharp turns.

The words of the Director of the branch of the NTC “Republican Polygon for Testing Mobile Machines” Sergey Kot, who stated that, despite the increased mass of the car compared to the “donor”, ​​the brake mechanisms work properly – the electric car demonstrates “decent results”. It is known that the decorated mass of the electrocrospector is 1815 kilograms, that is, it is 100 kilograms heavier than the Belgee X50 with ICE.

The characteristics of Belgee EX50 were declassified at the beginning of 2024, then the prototype of the electric crossover was demonstrated by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko. The electric car is equipped with a synchronous electric motor with a rated capacity of 80 kilowatts, or 109 horsepower (maximum power-120 kilowatts, or 163 forces) and a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 65 kilowatt hours.
