New Lada ISKRA: The start date of sales and the degree of “import substitution”

AvtoVAZ announced the beginning of the serial assembly of the family and confirmed the characteristics. Lada ISKRA dealers will appear in three months: the start of sales on July 20. The model was supposed to debut three years ago, but due to the departure of Renault, more than a third of the components had to be replaced. Now the production is localized by 90%: the remaining details are supplied from the “friendly” countries.

AvtoVAZ confirmed the characteristics of LADA ISKRA: the length/width/height of the sedan are 4333/1777/1517 millimeters, respectively, the station wagon is slightly larger (4342 mm in length). The wheelbase is 2603 millimeters. The configurations are not officially disclosed, although insiders have already reported the basic version and all the options provided for by the project.
