New Russian-assembled Kia now have manual transmission and become cheaper

The Auto News of the Day portal found that since the end of December, Solaris KRS and KRX (formerly Kia Rio and Rio X) have become available with a manual 6-speed gearbox. Choosing such a transmission instead of a 6-band automatic will save 100 thousand rubles. The basic sedan costs 2,060,000 rubles, the basic cross-hatch costs 2,161,000 rubles, but “mechanics” are only available in the initial versions.

The appearance of a manual gearbox symbolically reduced prices, because last week all Solaris models from the St. Petersburg plant went up in price. Now the KRS sedan with rear disc brakes costs from 2,280,000 rubles, and the top version of the former Kia Rio will cost 2,465,000 rubles. Since April, richly equipped four-door cars have added 168 thousand rubles!

After the revision, the KRX cross-hatch costs 97 thousand more in the base than at the beginning of sales, and instead of an automatic transmission it is now a manual transmission! If we compare configurations with comparable equipment, the increase is about 200 thousand rubles. Versions with rear disc brakes cost from 2,381,000 rubles, and the top five-door will cost 2,566,000 rubles.

In St. Petersburg, Solaris cars are produced in batches, so dealers may not have all the configurations offered in the price lists. In addition to the above-mentioned Kia models, Solaris HS (formerly Hyundai Solaris) and Solaris HC (formerly Hyundai Creta) are assembled in our country.
