Future models RAV4, Highlander and Sienna intend to develop together with partners, they will be produced at Faw-Toyota capacities. Thus, Chinese versions will begin to differ stronger from the “global”.

The Chinese Toyota research and development team will be decentralized, that is, it will be able to make a number of decisions (for example, by suppliers) without coordination with Tokyo. Also, the Chinese branch of Toyota will be able to rely on a single personnel management system, while now the FAW-Toyota, Gac-Toyota, BYD-Toyota and the Toyota IEM technology department work independently.

Insiders quote the unnamed representative of Toyota, who stated: the concern will not make concessions in safety matters, brakes, steering and batteries to Toyota standards.
