The crossover became an electric car: it moved to the PPE platform and replaced the “fours” and “sixes” with a dual-motor electric unit. Its output is up to 639 horsepower and 1130 Nm of torque. In the top version, acceleration to “hundreds” takes only 3.3 seconds. Features include three screens in the cabin, not counting the projection screen, air suspension and an active rear spoiler. Porsche ### Infiniti QX80 changed generation in spring [Infiniti QX80](https://motor.ru/news/all-new-infiniti-qx80-21-03-2024.htm). The luxury SUV received a more discreet design and lost its V8 engine, which was replaced by a more powerful 3.5 twin-turbo six: it develops 450 horsepower and 560 Nm of torque in the US version. The QX80 can “squat” when getting in and out, changing the ground clearance, consumes less fuel, and itself determines when passengers are hot, redirecting air flows in the cabin.
Infiniti ### Nissan Kicks Nissan Kicks, occupying a niche under the American Rogue (our X-Trail) in March [перешел](https://motor.ru/news/nissan-kicks-all-new-22-03-2024.htm) into the second generation. Kicks has grown in all directions, including upward: the ground clearance is now 213 millimeters instead of 179. The crossover has acquired large screens, a panoramic roof and a Bose audio system. Under the hood it has a two-liter naturally aspirated engine with 143 horsepower; The drive can be either front-wheel drive or, for the first time, all-wheel drive. Nissan ### Toyota 4Runner New [4Runner](https://motor.ru/news/all-new-toyota-4runner-10-04-2024.htm) also debuted in the spring and also grew in size, changing the platform. And there was some downsizing here: instead of a V6, the range now has a 2.4-liter supercharged “four” with a capacity of 281 horsepower, which can act as part of a hybrid installation with 330 horsepower. The SUV’s arsenal includes cruise control that can maintain low speeds, advanced Toyota safety systems and two all-wheel drive to choose from – permanent or with a rigid connection to the front axle. There are as many as nine trim levels, including the “adventure” Trailhunter.
Toyota ### Alfa Romeo Junior Alfa Romeo in April introduced its first electric car – a subcompact SUV, which was called [Milano](https://motor.ru/news/alfamilano-11-04-2024.htm). The name, however, had to be changed almost immediately: the Italian authorities considered it dishonest, since production was established in Poland, and not in Milan. The crossover, standing one step below the Tonale, is offered in two fully electric and two hybrid versions with a 400-liter trunk and an assistant based on ChatGPT. At the most powerful Junior Elettrica [Veloce](https://motor.ru/news/alfa-romeo-junior-veloce-20-06-2024.htm) one electric motor with 280 horsepower and reduced weight – only 1590 kilograms.
Alfa Romeo ### Renault Symbioz turned out even lighter [Renault Symbioz](https://motor.ru/news/renault-symbioz-02-05-2024.htm): the compact cross, located in the brand’s lineup between Austral and Captur, weighs 1,500 kilograms. It was designed in the spirit of the new Renault, borrowing a lot from the same Captur, and was equipped with as many as 29 electronic assistants, including a second-level autopilot. Renault is especially proud of its higher quality finishing materials and panoramic roof, which becomes transparent or darkened in a second. The rival Nissan Qashqai is driven by a hybrid installation with a 1.6-liter engine that develops 145 horsepower.
Renault ### Mercedes-Benz G-Class EQ The electric Gelik, the prototype of which was shown more than two years ago, has become a reality. Appearance and design [G-Class EQ](https://motor.ru/news/g-class-eq-24-04-2024.htm) are familiar, but the installation is completely “green”: these are four motors with a total output of 587 forces and 1164 torques. The electric Geländewagen is not the fastest: from zero to 100 kilometers per hour it accelerates in 4.7 seconds – 0.4 slower than the AMG version. But it can make a tank turn and overcome fords up to 850 millimeters deep, and for those who miss the internal combustion engine, it will imitate the sound of a V8.
Mercedes-Benz ### Kia EV3 Kia’s smallest electric car, [EV3](https://motor.ru/news/all-new-kia-ev3-23-05-2024.htm), in design it is close to the “senior” [EV9](https://motor.ru/news/kia-ev9-specs-29-03-2023.htm), and in size – to Hyundai Creta. It has a 400-volt architecture, front-wheel drive, one motor with a capacity of 204 horsepower and a power reserve of up to 600 kilometers. In the future, Kia promises to add a dual-motor all-wheel drive option to the compact. In the meantime, the versions differ only in design: the GT-Line has “evil” bumpers and differently designed black rims. A neural network assistant is also promised, but it will only be implemented in 2025.
Kia ### Nissan Patrol More affordable “brothers” of the Infiniti QX80, body-on-frame SUVs [Patrol и Armada](https://motor.ru/news/nissan-armada-patrol-y63-04-09-2024.htm) changed generations in one day. Essentially, these are the same car, and the changes are the same: the V8 has been replaced by a turbocharged six with direct injection. Power increased to 425 horsepower, torque – to 700 Nm. And the Eastern Patrol also has [базовый вариант](https://motor.ru/news/base-nissan-patrol-07-09-2024.htm) with a 316-horsepower engine. The equipment, although more modest than that of the Infiniti, is also quite good: there is three-zone climate control, cruise control, many airbags and a paid head-up display.
Nissan ### Audi Q5 Changed generation for the first time since 2017 [Audi Q5](https://motor.ru/news/all-new-audi-q5-02-09-2024.htm). First, a regular crossover and a “charged” SQ5 saw the light, and then a coupe-shaped one [Sportback](https://motor.ru/news/all-new-audi-q5-sportback-26-11-2024.htm). The appearance has changed evolutionarily, but the interior with three screens is completely different: it was taken from [A5](https://motor.ru/news/audi-a5-16-07-2024.htm), which shared the PPC platform with the crossover. Fuel engines remain in service, but in Europe they are now offered exclusively with electric add-ons. The SQ5 is equipped with a three-liter TFSI six, which produces 367 horsepower and 550 Nm of torque.
Audi ### BMW X3 BMW showed the most driver-worthy [X3](https://motor.ru/news/all-new-bmw-x3-19-06-2024.htm) G45 generation. The bestseller retained the same engines, which were electrified to varying degrees, received a new appearance with large “nostrils” and an original interior design with rich illumination. Unfortunately for many, it has fewer physical buttons. The X3 M50 xDrive range is crowned with an improved three-liter “six” of the M Performance family with 381 power and 540 torque and an 18-horsepower starter-generator. In the summer of 2025, they promise to add a six-cylinder diesel to the X3, and then BMW will probably introduce the flagship M version.
BMW ### Smart #5 Smart, known for its tiny cars, has radically changed its profile and introduced [#5](https://motor.ru/news/smart-5-sales-23-09-2024.htm) – its largest model, which is inferior in wheelbase to the BMW X4. Of course, it can be called non-Chinese with a caveat: it is a crossover on the Geely platform with a “grown-up” design, 19- and 20-inch wheels, large screens, heated seats and all-wheel drive. The top version develops as much as 646 horsepower, and the power reserve reaches 740 kilometers. Smart #5 is aimed not at Europe, but at China, where it is produced.
Smart ### Dacia Bigster The largest car appeared in 2024 from Dacia. The Romanian brand showed a 4.6-meter crossover with a self-explanatory name [Bigster](https://motor.ru/lab/dacia-bigster.htm). In essence, it is a “stretched” third-generation Duster and is very similar to it both outside and inside. Among the differences that distinguish the flagship are electric seats, dual-zone climate control and a panoramic roof. The most powerful option is a “mild hybrid” with front-wheel drive, developing 140 horsepower. There is also an all-wheel drive version with a 1.2 turbo engine, and in 2025 Dacia promised to add an AWD hybrid to the range.
Dacia ### Audi Q6 e-tron [Q6 e-tron](https://motor.ru/news/audi-q6-e-tron-19-03-2024.htm) was delayed: it was supposed to be presented back in 2023, but Audi had problems with the software. The Q6 e-tron is the brand’s first model on the PPE platform, which it shares with the Porsche Macan. The powerful crossover has an 800-volt architecture and an output of up to 510 horsepower (short-term) in the SQ6 e-tron version, allowing it to accelerate to “hundreds” in 4.3 seconds. Later the cross-coupe debuted [Sportback](https://motor.ru/news/audi-audi-q6-sportback-e-tron-14-10-2024.htm), differing from the usual “Q-6” only in better aerodynamics and an increased power reserve.
Audi ### Skoda Elroq Feature [Elroq](https://motor.ru/news/new-skoda-elroq-02-10-2024.htm) is that it became the first showcase of Skoda’s new design language – Modern Solid. The departure from the previous style is obvious, but not as radical as, for example, [Jaguar](https://motor.ru/news/jaguar-concept-leaked-02-12-2024.htm). Here is the usual plug in place of the radiator grille, and “pixel” optics, more than once seen on Hyundai, and the change from a round emblem with an arrow to a letter logo. The electrocross is based on the familiar MEB platform, and the most powerful version with two motors develops 299 horsepower and travels 560 kilometers without recharging.
Skoda ### Honda Passport Changed generation at the end of the year [Honda Passport](https://motor.ru/news/all-new-honda-passport-13-11-2024.htm). The crossover received a completely new appearance in off-road style, a more rigid chassis and technology from [Honda Pilot](https://motor.ru/news/new-honda-pilot-07-11-2022.htm). It’s a 3.5-liter V6 that produces 289 horsepower and 355 pound-feet of torque. It is paired with a ten-speed automatic transmission and second-generation i-VTM4 all-wheel drive. Passport also added an improved version of TrailSport with cameras covering “dead” spots – for example, the edge of the road or the edge of a track.
Honda ### Cadillac Vistiq [Vistiq](https://motor.ru/news/new-cadillac-vistiq-12-11-2024.htm) is Cadillac’s fourth electric crossover after the Lyriq, Optic and Escalade IQ. The three-row Vistiq is designed in the style of the latest Cadillacs and is equipped with a twin-motor unit producing 624 horsepower (880 Nm of torque). On one charge of a large 102-kilowatt-hour battery, it will travel up to 480 kilometers. Inside there are expensive materials, climate control with five zones and a 23-speaker audio system. Vistiq has fewer screens than the older one [Escalade IQ](https://motor.ru/news/escalade-iq-price-11-12-2024.htm), but there is air suspension, a night vision system and various advanced assistants, including cyclist control.
Cadillac ### Hyundai Ioniq 9 Another three-row newcomer appeared at Hyundai at the end of 2024. [Ioniq 9](https://motor.ru/news/hyundai-ioniq-9-21-11-2024.htm) – an electric flagship with a 3.13-meter wheelbase, the already mentioned “pixel” optics, paid cameras instead of rear-view mirrors and a maximum total trunk volume of more than 1,400 liters (including the additional one in front). The Ioniq 9 boasts reclining seats with a footrest and massage function, swivel second-row seats, and two 214-horsepower engines in the top Performance version.
Hyundai ### Hyundai Palisade After the electric flagship, it’s the turn of the fuel one: it debuted [Hyundai Palisade](https://motor.ru/news/all-new-palisade-22-12-2024.htm) second generation. The all-terrain vehicle, as is usual with the Koreans, has radically changed in appearance, has become larger and has a cabin that can accommodate as many as nine riders! The Palisade ditched the diesel engine and naturally aspirated V6, but acquired a self-charging hybrid unit with a peak power of 334 horsepower. The estimated range of a five-meter SUV is more than a thousand kilometers.
Hyundai
It’s been a tough year for the auto industry. Sales of electric cars, on which the West’s largest bet was made, have not yet justified themselves. Several auto giants plunged into an unprecedented crisis, and Nissan in general [прочили](https://motor.ru/news/nissan-future-27-11-2024.htm) no more than a year of life, unless he urgently finds an investor. Despite the difficulties, the year is rich in premieres: there is the electric Gelik (already in production), the Infiniti QX80, and the BMW X3. The Audi Q5 changed generations for the first time in eight years, and at the end of the year Hyundai surprised with a new Palisade with scale changes [Santa Fe](https://motor.ru/news/all-new-santa-fe-18-07-2023.htm). Only time will tell how they will fare in a rapidly changing market, but for now we suggest recalling the most interesting newcomers of the year in the SUV segment.
