Nürburgring was closed for motorcycles: joint track-days in the past

On the social networks of the circuit, they made a statement that from now on cars and motorcycles on the northern loop will be strictly divided. The restrictions were introduced for the sake of safety: due to the risk of misunderstanding and various dynamics of driving two- and four-wheeled vehicles, it was decided to prohibit bikers to take part in the so-called “tourist” sessions.

Since 2025, bikers will not be able to go to the northern loop on their motorcycle and “chase” with cars. “Joint” track-days is possible only on the small ring of Nürburgring, at which in recent years, the Grand Prix of Formula 1 was held. The departure of motorcycles to Nürburgring will occur on predetermined days, when there are no cars on the track.

Due to different levels of dynamics and training of drivers, joint sessions led to tragic incidents. In 2021, one person died, and seven were in the hospital, in 2023 two Goodyear employees died during test races. Both times, fatal accidents happened with bikers, and in general, two -wheeled pilots are more vulnerable on a dangerous highway.

The representative of Nyurgurgring emphasized that motorcyclists will be able to travel on the track during organized tracks, and the owners of seasonal subscriptions will be able to either return the money or move to the Nurging Grand Prix highway. As an unprecedented step of the organizers will affect security statistics at the Avtodrome yet.
