Opel showed the new Grandland all -wheel drive crossover

Almost 14 months after the presentation of the second generation model, the line was expanded due to the two -engine version. Such an Opel Grandland differs both externally and technically. The main innovation is the addition of an auxiliary rear engine (112 hp), but it is not involved in all modes. Bumpers and wheels also changed, and the aerodynamic resistance coefficient decreased to 0.278.

Queen of the all -wheel drive Opel Grandland – 325 horsepower and 509 nm of torque. This allows a 4.65-meter crossover to exchange 100 km/h from a place in 6.1 seconds. However, all power is not always available, but only in sports and all -wheel drive modes. In an economical preset, the rear engine is disconnected, and the performance is limited to 213 horsepower and 343 nm.

Probably, it is in such a configuration that Opel Grandland passes the maximum 501 kilometer (WLTP) without recharging. The compromise is inevitable, because only the “younger” 400-volt battery at 73 kilowatt-hours is laid for the all-wheel drive crossover. But the all -wheel drive option should be the most gambling: adaptive shock absorbers are reconfigured, changes are made to the springs, and ESP reptile stabilizers and calibration.

Prices will be announced later, on sale all -wheel drive electric vehicles Opel will appear in the fall. Now in Germany, Grandland electric car costs from 47 thousand euros. There are also fuel versions with a non -alternative front -wheel drive, and they are more affordable: from 36.4 thousand euros.
