Polestar announced a new crossover under the index 7

The brand, which has long been separated from Volvo, now operating under the wing of the Chinese Geely, is preparing a replenishment of the line. Polestar management has officially confirmed the release of the 7 electric crossover, a model in a new segment for the brand that will compete with the Porsche Macan. The “Seven” will hit the market before the end of the decade. To bypass import duties, it will be put on the assembly line in Europe, and not in China.

Polestar 7 will embody “everything our customers expect from us, both in terms of design and performance,” promised the brand’s chief designer Philipp Roemers. According to preliminary data, the “seven” will be inferior in size to the Polestar 3.

There are no other details about the new product yet. The most likely platform option is the SEA (Sustainable Experience Architecture), which underlies Smart #3 and Polestar 4.

Porsche is thinking about releasing a new Macan with an internal combustion engine The Polestar 6 roadster received a “charged” version of the Polestar 3 got a rear-wheel drive version and dropped in price

The new product should improve Polestar’s affairs, which leave much to be desired. Last year’s figures have not yet been revealed, but Models 3 and 4 are selling worse than expected. The company’s demand and revenue in the third quarter of 2024 decreased by eight and 10 percent, respectively.

However, Polestar noted that the fourth quarter was better and forecast sales growth of about a third over the next three years. Both updating the model range and increasing the number of dealership centers from the current 106 to 187 should help. By the end of 2025, Polestar will enter the French market, and from 2026 it will begin active expansion in Eastern Europe, Asia and Latin America.

In the second half of 2025, Polestar plans to begin sales of liftback number 5 – the first model with 800-volt architecture, almost 900 horsepower and a range of 600 kilometers. The Swedes are also launching the Polestar Energy service in Europe, which will save up to 30% on charging electric cars from the home network.
