She got a 173-horsepower engine, an upgraded suspension on spherical joints, a sequential gearbox and rear brakes from Vesta.
The “combat” Lada Iskra is made according to the canons of cars participating in ice racing. The body is lightweight and supplemented with a welded safety cage. The suspension uses special shock absorbers and stiffer springs, replacing silent blocks with spherical joints. The mounting points for the components are reinforced, and so are the drives.

The engine of the racing Iskra is also far from standard. Its volume has been increased from 1.6 to 1.8 liters. There is a different crankshaft, connecting rods, intake and control unit, so the output is 173 horsepower and 200 Nm of torque. Power to the wheels goes through a sequential gearbox and a limited-slip inter-axle differential.
The front brakes are original, the rear brakes are from Vesta. There is a hydraulic handbrake and a brake force adjustment system. Even the electrical equipment has been modernized, in particular, a multifunctional control panel has been mounted on the steering column.
The premiere of the racing Lada Iskra will take place on January 25, 2025 as part of the 27th Race of Champions, which will be held at the AvtoVAZ JSC test road complex in the Samara region.
