Registration of transport can become inaccessible to debtors on alimony

In Russia, the introduction of additional sanctions against citizens who evade the payment of alimony is considered. The head of the Federal Bailiff Service Dmitry Aristov said that one of these restrictions may be a ban on receiving a number of public services, including registration of vehicles. The measure is aimed at improving the effectiveness of the penalties and increasing responsibility for malicious non -payers.

One of the new pressure measures to alimony defaults in Russia may be a ban on access to certain public services. In particular, debtors are offered to prohibit car registration. The initiative is discussed in the framework of the International Law Forum held in St. Petersburg. According to the head of the Federal Bailiff Service Dmitry Aristov, the corresponding proposal is now actively worked out by the department.

Citizens included in a special register of alimony debtors will be subject to new restrictions. It will include persons who have already been brought to administrative or criminal liability, as well as those who are on the wanted list. It is assumed that the register will be open for public access. According to preliminary calculations, up to 180 thousand Russians may include in the list. The launch of the registry is scheduled for May 25.

In early May, Russia was proposed to limit access to car sharing for drivers without experience. This initiative was made by the deputy of the municipality of the village of Shushary Mikhail Vetrov. He proposed to increase the minimum age of the tenant from 18 to 20 years, as well as establish the minimum driving experience – at least two years.
