Reviews of new Moskvich cars have been published on the Internet.

If previously the Chinese JAC was the production partner providing its models, now a second partner has appeared – the English brand MG, now owned by the Shanghai concern SAIC. Accordingly, the source of the Moskvich M70 model was the MG HS, and the prototype of the Moskvich M90 was the MG RX9.

Both crossovers are sold not only in China, but also in other foreign markets: the editors of Motor studied the opinions left by European and Australian owners of the MG HS and MG RX9 models – these people should know a lot about good cars, and, therefore, can leave completely objective reviews.

Among the common problems reported by owners and reviewers of the MG RX9 are significant turbo lag, problems with the media system and ineffective air conditioning – rear passengers especially complain about the operation of the climate control.

In addition, the 2023 model managed to “distinguish itself” with engine oil leaks, breakdowns of the cylinder head gasket, as well as premature corrosion. But, as motorists note, most MG cars suffer from this.

“With proper maintenance, the model is quite good, but more often Australians choose competitors (for example, Hyundai Santa Fe or Kia Sorento) as they are known for their level of reliability,” sums up Value Cars Australia.

“Moskvich”

There are much fewer comments about the MG HS, since the car itself debuted only a year and a half ago. But there are already complaints about hard gear shifting, freezing of the media system and poor acceleration when pressing the accelerator pedal.

“Many problems can be temporarily resolved by restarting the engine, but a software update is often required. However, for a car that has a 7-year warranty, these are trifles,” says the author of the Chasing Cars blog.

The fate of the Russian-assembled Moskvich 5 crossovers has been revealed. In Omsk, a small-scale Moskvich pickup truck was sold in a few hours. Moskvich will produce hybrids.

Let us add that the Moskvich M70 (MG HS) will offer a 1.5-liter turbo engine and front-wheel drive, and for the all-wheel drive Moskvich M90, a 2.0 engine will also be available. In both cases, the gearboxes are 9-speed automatic transmissions.

Now the revived Soviet brand has presented only a small part of the information: the exact characteristics, set of trim levels and prices will be revealed later.
