RG: 28% of drivers will never give up their personal car

Russian car owners are ready to accept rising transport costs. This is evidenced by the results of a survey conducted by the analytical service of the international franchising network of car service centers Fit Service specifically for Rossiyskaya Gazeta. More than 3,000 respondents took part in the survey.

“According to the study, only 10% of drivers would consider giving up their car if the cost of maintaining it increased by more than 50%. Another 5% admitted that an increase of around 25-50% to current expenses would be critical for them,” the publication says.

For 14% of respondents, the main incentive to sell a car is not the rise in prices, but the loss of a job or serious financial difficulties. Public transport and carsharing are still perceived as a niche alternative. Only 5% are ready to switch to them provided they have truly convenient infrastructure.

A group of principled motorists is clearly visible against the general background. Almost a third of respondents (28%) say that they are never ready to part with their car – under any circumstances. Another 37% perceive personal transport as an unconditional attribute of their life and will agree to sell only in case of serious unforeseen circumstances.

As Tatyana Ovchinnikova, director of the international network of car service centers Fit Service, emphasizes, a personal car for the majority of Russian residents has long outgrown the function of a simple means of transportation, becoming a symbol of the usual way of life and personal independence. The expert predicts that even with further growth in maintenance costs, drivers will not rush to sell. Instead, they will focus on finding ways to save: they will reconsider the intensity of use, and begin to take a more conscious approach to the choice of car services and spare parts.

Earlier, the lawyer said that he was threatening the driver who called the traffic cops blind.
