Rossa supercar took part in an international race for the first time

Last weekend, the Dubai 24 Hours marathon took place, which became the first international competition for the Rossa LM GT. The most talked about “combat” supercar in Russia was piloted by the last Russian Formula 1 pilot Nikita Mazepin, the creator of the Ross project and participant in the 24 Hours of Le Mans Roman Rusinov, who previously competed in the 24 Hours of Dubai Evgeny Kireev and Harrison Newey, the son of an engineer Adriana Newey.

In qualifying, the Rossa LM GT supercar showed the best time in the GTX class, but later the crew was disqualified for not following the order of performance. In general, the race was not very successful for the LM GT: the supercar completed only 75 laps, while the winner of the marathon, the BMW M4 GT3 Evo of the Al Manar Racing by Team WRT team, completed 589 laps in 24 hours.

The Rossa LM GT did not reach the finish line. The supercar completed its final lap on Saturday evening, after which the car was driven into the pits as it required repairs.

At the same time, Rusinov is pleased with the results of the debut race. According to him, the “24 Hours of Dubai” became “a real combat test for a completely new car.” “As soon as the car entered the track, it immediately showed impressive speed. We could go at the pace of the GT3 vehicles, but according to the GTX class regulations we had to give them three seconds,” he said. “We confidently took pole position in our category and during the race we also demonstrated the potential of the Rossa LM GT. The car exceeded all our expectations and impressed our competitors and fans.”

The race was much more successful by the SMP Racing crew, which included two Russian ex-Formula 1 drivers, Vitaly Petrov and Sergey Sirotkin, as well as Denis Remenyako, Kirill Smal and Alexander Smolyar. Their supercar finished in fourth position.
