In the second week of the month, 25.2 thousand cars were sold – 16.5 percent less than the week before. Analysts’ forecasts are pessimistic: some of them expect the market to fall by more than 20 percent at the end of the month, although demand usually grows in December. However, dealers hope for an influx of buyers due to the expectation of a new wave of price increases.
Over the past two weeks of December, Russians bought 55.2 thousand cars. This is 4.5 percent more than in the same period in November. However, to “catch up” with November, dealers will have to sell more than 66 thousand cars.
Some experts are confident that they will succeed, and the market volume will exceed 140 thousand units. Others expect a drop of up to 22 percent.
More than 70 percent of Chinese cars are bought on credit How many “gray” cars are sold in Russia per month Minus three positions: the Russian car market has dropped to fifth place in Europe
December is usually a good month for the car market. Traditionally, demand at the end of the year exceeds the annual average by 20-25 percent. Legal entities are also more actively buying cars, but this year they are not expecting a rush due to the high key rate of the Central Bank. At the same time, buyers are beginning to understand that prices will soon become even higher due to the indexation of the recycling fee and the fall of the ruble. Dealers expect that Russians will still come to buy cars “at old prices.”
At the beginning of winter, 12 brands had already raised their prices. Moreover, some have rewritten the cost of the entire model range: these are, for example, Changan and JAC.
