Sales of new cars in China are growing for three consecutive months

From January to April, the Chinese bought 6.97 million new cars, which is 8.2 percent more than four months of 2024, Reuters reports with reference to the Chinese Association of cars (CPCA). In April, dealers sold 1.78 million cars, and this is 14.8 percent more than last year. Growth is observed since February, that is, the third month in a row.

From statistics it follows that every second car sold in China in April is New (New Energy Vehicles), that is, an electric car or a hybrid with the possibility of charging from the network. Together, they diverged 905 thousand pieces, which is a third (33.9 percent) more than in the same month of last year. The share of News in China reached 51.5 percent.

More than 60 percent of these 905 thousand cars – namely 559 thousand units – are full -fledged electric cars, the demand for which over the year has grown by 38 percent. The remaining 346 thousand pieces are parallel and consistent plug-in hybrids, the sales of which increased by 27.3 percent.

For four months of 2025, the Russians bought 349 041 a new passenger car-25.4 percent less than in January-April of the 2024th.
