Skoda has developed a bicycle bell that can be heard through headphones

Skoda, based on statistics, believes that many collisions of cyclists and scooters with pedestrians are caused by the fact that the latter use headphones with active noise reduction systems. Accordingly, a person does not hear the signal given to him, which becomes the cause of incidents. To solve the problem, Czech engineers created the Skoda DuoBell bell.

The special Skoda DuoBell bell mechanism delivers several rapid and irregular strikes at frequencies between 750 and 780 Hz. Studies have shown that noise reduction systems do not have time to process sounds in this range.

However, the eardrum also does not perceive such sounds, so DuoBell simultaneously emits one louder signal at a frequency of 2000 Hz – which a person identifies as a classic bicycle bell.
