Ssangyong in the past: first glance at the serial pickup KGM MUSSO EV

The KGM brand (formerly Ssangyong) declassified the MUSSO EV – electric pickup, which inherited the historical name. Previously, under this name, a frame pickup was sold based on the Rexton SUV, and 19 years later the “rhino” – and this is how MUSSO is translated – returns to duty. But now it is based on the same platform on which the Torres EVX crossover is built.

KGM claim that MUSSO EV is the first electric pickup in South Korea. Unlike the previous “rhino”, the electric pickup has a carrier body, and the drive is only the front-the 207-horsepower electric motor is responsible for the rotation of the front wheels. There is no information about the battery yet, but it is expected that its capacity will be 80.6 kilowatts of an hour. For comparison: Torres EVX battery 73.4-kilowatt.

Outwardly, the “green” MUSSO repeats the Torres EVX crossover: they have an identical front part, with the exception of the design of the bumper and pads on the wheel arches. But the back is significantly changed: the cargo compartment is combined with the cabin, and glazed superstructures are also provided. The carrying capacity is not given, like dynamic characteristics – KGM promises to share all the details in the spring. The premiere of MUSSO EV is scheduled for March.
