Stylish crossover Geely Galaxy Starship 7 surprised by price

Sales of the new Geely model, the Galaxy Starship 7 hybrid all-terrain vehicle, have started in China: it will be offered in five levels of equipment costing from 99.8 to 132.8 thousand yuan (1.37-1.8 million rubles). When compared with models for Russia, the new product is not only cheaper than Coolray, but also all Geely models from the local line. It is worth noting that the prices announced in China will be valid for a limited amount of time, after which Starship 7 will become more expensive.

The Galaxy sub-brand was created by Geely for electric cars and hybrids in the mid-price range, and, according to unofficial data so far, at least one model of this brand will be officially presented in Russia – EX5. As for Starship 7, it has just been launched in China and can now be purchased at a special price. Starship 7 is a mid-size crossover with a length of just over 4.7 meters and a wheelbase of 2.75 meters.

The Galaxy Starship 7 features the Chinese automaker’s advanced technologies: the driver interface runs on the proprietary Flyme Auto platform, it includes a 10.2-inch digital instrument panel, a 14.6-inch central multimedia touchscreen and a 13.8-inch head-up display. Depending on the level of equipment, the car is equipped with “smart” heated seats, ventilation and 14-point massage, a Flyme Sound audio system with 16 speakers, wireless charging for smartphones and a set of electronic assistants – the second level of autonomy is declared.

Starship 7 is powered by a new generation NordThor hybrid propulsion system. It consists of a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated internal combustion engine with a capacity of 111 horsepower and a 218-horsepower electric motor. There are two batteries to choose from, both lithium iron phosphate: 8.05 and 19.09 kilowatt-hours. The first allows you to travel 55 kilometers on pure electricity on the CLTC cycle, the second – 120 kilometers. The total range in hybrid mode reaches 1,420 kilometers, and fuel consumption is 3.75 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers.

At the end of November, it became known that Geely had certified the Galaxy EX5 crossover in Russia – this model has already received Vehicle Type Approval, which may indicate plans for an official launch in our market. Information also appeared about the possible localization of EX5 at the facilities of the BelGee plant in Belarus.
