In a weekly rating, a long -term leader in the car market on new energy sources lost not only BYD, but also Wuling. Over the third week of January, 55 thousand BYD, 11.7 thousand Wuling and only 10 thousand Tesla were implemented in the Middle Kingdom. The American brand was very little ahead of the other Chinese brands Lixiang (9.5 thousand pieces) and Xpeng (9.4 thousand pieces).

A weekly sales rating is published by Xiang on the basis of these insurance companies, and competitors really do not like this statistics. However, the numbers themselves are not questioned, although there are questions for the calculation methodology: for example, consistent hybrids are considered electric cars, since from the point of view of taxes in the PRC this is the same thing.

The fact that Tesla is losing the Chinese market is no secret for a long time: the American brand has not been competing for the total sales with the BYD Higigant. However, the Model Y crossover still became the absolute leader of the PRC market in the rating of models for 2024: in 12 months, 480 thousand electric carriers were sold! The updated bestseller will only spur sales.

The successes of Wuling in the segment of electric cars and hybrids do not surprise, because the portfolio has a whole gamut of very cheap models, and the entrance ticket in the brand costs only 33 thousand yuan ($ 4,500). For comparison, the base BYD costs 70 thousand yuan, Xpeng – from 112 thousand yuan, Tesla – from 236 thousand yuan, Lixiang – from 250 thousand yuan.
