The amount that will be spent on a platform for Russian cars has been revealed

The development of a unified modular architecture will cost 160 billion rubles, which will be allocated in the next five years. This was reported by TASS with reference to the head of the automotive industry department of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Tigran Parsadanyan. A key role in the development will be played by FSUE NAMI, which will be assisted by AvtoVAZ, GAZ and KamAZ.

On the domestic platform it will be possible to create cars of classes C, E and D. These can be cars with only internal combustion engines, as well as hybrids and “pure” electric cars.

Work on the architecture began this year, and not only car factories, but also Russian component manufacturers expressed a desire to participate, Parsadanyan said.

In November it was reported that about 90 billion rubles would be spent on the platform in 2025-2027. The rest, apparently, will be invested in 2028 and 2029. The funds were going to be taken from the budget reserve for activities as part of national projects and the emphasis was on sequential hybrid and electric power plants.

Meanwhile, dynamic tests of the Russian Atom electric hatchback have been completed. The “gadget car” with a screen on the steering wheel, a head-up display and a 204-horsepower electric motor should hit the production line in 2025. The Moskvich plant will produce Atoms.
