The “Chinese cars” portal drew attention to this: on one of the online video, they put up cars with a VIN code starting on the EDE. This indicates that Tiggo 9 was produced at the Russian factory, namely, at the former Volkswagen site in the Kaluga region. Previously, the same designation of EDE “lit up” by the Cher’s Tiggo 7l party, collected at the same enterprise.

Officially, that Chery launched the production of cars in Russia was not reported. At the same time, back in February of this year, it was announced to resume the work of the former Volkswagen plant in the Kaluga region, which, after the departure of the German concern, crossed the AGR Automotive Group). Then it was not specified which models gather there, but, according to insiders, these are Chery models – Tiggo 4, Tiggo 7 Pro Max, Tiggo 8 Pro Max and Tiggo 9.

On the same site, during 2025, the assembly of cars of the new Russian brand Tenet starts. Tenet should become the firstborn of the 32T crossover – this is Tiggo 7L with other nameplates. Following the conveyor will stand 3XT based on Tiggo 4, and the third model will be 31T – according to some reports, Tiggo 8 Pro Max will hide under this index. At first, cars will produce a coarse method, and then the plant will go to the production in a full cycle, with welding and coloring.

Returning to Tiggo 9 of the Russian assembly, such crossovers appeared on sale in Moscow. These are cars equipped with a two -liter gasoline engine with a capacity of 249 horsepower and an automatic gearbox. The drive of such a Tiggo 9 is a complete Torque-on-Demand with a multi-disable clutch in a single constructive module with a rear differential.

According to the Chery website, as of mid -June, Tiggo 9 costs 4,550,000–4,850,000 rubles, depending on the configuration. In the screenshot, which is brought by “Chinese cars”, the crossover is offered to leasing without indicating the price.
