Nio CEO William Lee told reporters that all 999 units of the ET9 “welcome” First Edition series were booked immediately. The top manager spoke about the successful debut of the flagship sedan at a press conference, which took place less than a day after the presentation. William Lee emphasized that he would be happy to sell 1,000 units of Nio ET9 every month in the future.

The premiere of the production electric car Nio ET9 took place on December 21, and buyers could pre-order sedans in two trim levels. Most chose the top version of the First Edition, although the starting price for the option with a rental battery was 788 thousand yuan ($108 thousand). Nio’s boss said that since the car is very expensive, the sales results are in line with expectations.

707 horsepower, super-strong body, interior of unprecedented luxury: Nio ET9 revealed Details about the rival Mercedes-Maybach from JAC Kim Jong-un exchanged the Russian Aurus for the new Mercedes-Maybach

The presentation left out the question of how the First Edition modification differs from the “regular” Nio ET9. According to Chinese journalists, overpaying for the special version will allow you to get an electric car with 23-inch forged wheels, a panoramic sunroof and a number of decorative elements. Personalization options have also been expanded: you can order woolen rugs, pillows to support your legs, and special chairs with adjustable lumbar support will not require additional payment.

Nio ET9 will begin shipping in March. The standard 5.3-meter sedan will offer a four-seater interior, an all-wheel drive power plant with a capacity of 707 horsepower, a steerable chassis and active air suspension with electro-hydraulic shock absorbers. In China, the new product will compete with Mercedes-Maybach and young brands Maextro, Yangwang and Stelato.
