In March, cars in Russia fell by 44.4 percent. This is a dramatic fall, said AvtoVAZ President Maxim Sokolov, also noting the weak result of the entire first quarter of 2025. The LADA itself has a more positive dynamics than in the market as a whole, but in a year comparison the demand for AvtoVAZ products also decreased significantly – by 33 percent.
The market drop in March and the results of the first quarter confirm the forecast for a reduction in sales in 2025, Sokolov said. There are several reasons – a high key rate and strict requirements of banks, scaring away borrowers, as well as large reserves of unsold foreign cars – about half a million.
AvtoVAZ also encountered overstocking, but he still managed to increase demand by February 2025, albeit only 7.4 percent. The “competitive pricing policy, the availability of service services in the widest dealer network in the country and profitable proposals of the corporate bank” helped in this, Sokolov said.
What new cars have fallen in place in Russia in March: the list of LADA models lost 25 Lada Granta sets of triggers.
At the same time, by March 2024, Lada sales fell by 33 percent. In March, AvtoVAZ sold 28.7 thousand new cars and light commercial machines, and 76.2 thousand per quarter.
This week, AvtoVAZ deprived Niva Legend, Granta, as well as Vesta SW, Vesta SW Cross and Vesta Cross more than two dozen performance. The company representative explained the changes in the lists “Standard Practice of the Brand for Updating Activities.”
