The Lada Parus trademark is officially registered in Russia

The corresponding entry appeared in the database of the Federal Institute of Industrial Property (FIPS). According to open data, the registration application was submitted at the beginning of 2025.

Although the name of the specific copyright holder is not disclosed in the documents (this is allowed by the current government decree), the location immediately adjacent to the AvtoVAZ scientific and technical center is indicated as the address for correspondence.

The name Lada Parus is protected under several classes of the International Classification of Goods and Services (ICGS). This means that the name can be used not only for the cars themselves, but also for toy models, as well as for car repair and maintenance services.

Interestingly, “Sail” was not the only name that the company tried to secure for itself. Along with it, other options were submitted for consideration: Lada Tigris, Lada Ariva, Lada Yarus and Lada Yashma.

It was previously reported that UAZ would rename the SUV for the first time in the history of the Hunter model.
